Wirambi Landcare is Western Australian not-for-profit organisation focused on increasing the awareness of our unique wildlife. We offer a wide range of conservation projects in the metro area as well as projects in regional WA. These projects include tree planting, seed collection, endangered species protection, weed control, flora and fauna surveys, and environmental monitoring.

The Helena River Catchment Group undertakes landcare and river rehabilitation projects on the Helena River and throughout the catchment. The small group of active volunteers is currently recruiting new members to build capacity for more landcare projects and to fill committee roles, particularly for the position of Secretary.

Kanyana Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to wildlife conservation. We care for sick, injured, orphaned, and displaced wildlife; breed threatened species; conduct training and research; and educate schools and community.

A small team of volunteers approx 8 on each shift who are dedicated to caring for the wildlife who live at Kanyana permanently.

We are currently looking for Parent Peer Volunteers to facilitate family peer support groups to parents and families. You may also be interested in providing telephone support to parents calling the service in distress on our telephone roster, As our service provides Peer Support, IT'S ESSENTIAL you have lived experience in this area.

This groups works in Blackwall Reach Reserve and along the river foreshore at Blackwall Reach Parade, doing restoration and erosion control works. They hold regular workdays and planting days throughout the year between April - September.

We have three sites in the City of Melville which are Blue Gum Lake, Booragoon Lake and Quenda Wetland where we assist the council’s bushcrew and the friends of group in caring for these reserves.

Activities include building raised garden beds, planting, weeding, harvesting, teaching, learning and organising community events.

The Wildcare Helpline is a telephone referral service operated by volunteers on behalf of the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation and Attractions and is based at WA Wildlife in Bibra Lake. We are seeking Wildcare Helpline Operators keen to learn and provide advice about wildlife and connect callers with appropriate organisations for further assistance.

Fresh Start is a not-for-profit addiction and substance use disorder recovery program that is looking for reliable, efficient and easy-going people, that are available as soon as possible on Wednesdays from 3pm until 6pm from Feb 9th until March 15, and enjoy cooking a variety of healthy home cooked meals, for our residents who are in the early stages of recovery and detoxification. The power of a home cooked meal is soul warming and can make our clients feel safe and comfortable.
