The In Search of Safety program was developed by Red Cross to help build awareness and understanding of the real situations facing people who come to Australia to seek asylum. It aims to clarify misinformation and challenge misunderstandings surrounding asylum seekers through thought-provoking presentations, engaging group activities and enlightening real-life stories, in order to increase community cohesion and cultivate a more welcoming Australia.
The Connected Women Project Volunteer supports migrant women who face significant isolation in their first 5 years. You will help to strengthen the cultural and social wellbeing of participants by supporting project activities identified by Connected Women groups.

Get some exercise…There’s always something to do in the native garden beside and behind the three hangars. The street side area is taken care of by Araluen Cultural Centre staff.
Get down & dusty in the vault…There’s a lot to be done from the ground up in this space to properly store and display the Museum’s collection of artefacts, documents, and images. Experience in this area would be most welcome.
Flex your creativity…The Museum strives to refresh and create new displays to bring to life Aviation’s great stories. Any skills in this area would be most welcome.

As part of Council’s Regional Waste Management Facility (RWMF), this volunteer position assists the operations at the waste transfer station.
Make us buzz…We need someone to run our social media so people know what’s going on, when it’s going on, where it’s going on & why it’s going on. Any skills in this area would be most welcome.
Meet lots of interesting people…The roster cover 2 sessions everyday – 10am to 1pm & 1pm to 4pm. Main duty is to make visitors feel welcome and selling gift shop items. We also ask volunteers to any obvious tidying/cleaning and report any maintenance issues in the diary. If you enjoy people, you’ll enjoy this.
Make us rock…There are occasional milestones &/or launches which the Museum undertakes as well as wanting to develop the Aviation precinct as an attractive venue for corporate & fundraising events. Any skills in this area would be most welcome.
