CECAL is looking for a Youth Project Volunteer to assist in running fun and engaging afterschool and school holiday programs for young people aged 11-14 years old in the Canterbury LGA.

Aged Care - Lawn Games Volunteers require at Dellacourt & Arrunga Aged Care facilities. Assist residents to participate in various lawn games such as bowls, quoits, bocce, croquet etc. Volunteers will need to assist residents with movement, retrieving balls and provide encouragement and support. Volunteers will be required to serve refreshments as needed during and following the activity and to assist residents to their homes on completion.

This activity will focus on gender related activities. It may include guest speakers from time to time or taking a small group of men to a club for an outing or playing pool. Have a chat over a beer or a cuppa.

Aged Care - Music Player/Singer Available at All sites. Play recorded music, an instrument or singing to a small group of residents.

Available at Dellacourt & Yallaroo sites. Spend some time with a small group of residents reading the local newspaper or other reading materials. Encourage discussion.

Aged Care - Skittles Organiser/ Assistant Available at Dellacourt Set up the hall with score board, chairs, etc. Assist residents to and from the venue. Assist residents with the activity, which will include retrieving balls and scoring. Following the game, assist with afternoon tea.

Available at the Yallaroo & Arrunga Sites. Multi sensory program for residents living with dementia, it incorporates song, dance, smell, taste etc. Volunteers can assist with all aspect of this activity. Sonas = happiness (in Gaelic)

Dellacourt & Yallaroo Sites. Set up materials for the activity, assist residents to the activity. Prompt and record their thoughts.

Our OOSH service is at Blue Haven and we are looking for a volunteer to work with our team. ***To be referred to this role an interview with Volunteering Central Coast is required. You will be contacted soon to arrange a mutually convenient time and place. ***

Happy Hour - Assistant Volunteers required at Dellacourt & Yallaroo Aged Care Facilities. Use some props (newspaper articles, photos and reminiscing materials) to encourage conversation while drinks are being served. Assist with the set up and clearing away.

Volunteers required at Dellacourt and Yallaroo Aged Care Facilities. People who enjoy playing cards or board games such as scrabble and monopoly are required to join in with small groups of residents.

Key duties can include the following, assisting our Activity Officers with activities, assistance with preparing meals, serving of meals, general kitchen duties, becoming a bus host on our Community Transport bus, which would involve transporting clients to and from Centre.
