The Newman VFRS is a dedicated, community-focused Brigade, currently seeking new members from the local area, with all types of skills, to join our team.

Are you local or new to Newman? Have you always wondered what its like being a fire fighter? Would you like to become part of a great team of people focused on keeping their community safe? Keen to learn new skills or happy to share those you already have?

Are you passionate about cats 😺? Would you like to be a part of a small (but enthusiastic!) cat rescue? Could you commit to a few hours every now and then or just a few hours as a once off to help us with our fundraising strategy?

The brave solo refugee Mums who make SchoolKits for Congo also make beautiful buntings from bright African fabrics, and teach other Mums to do the same. We sell them in Australia and return the proceeds to the makers so that they can pay the school fees for their children to be educated. We are looking for stallholders who could add a product to their range, and for representatives who can show buntings to potential retailers and customers.

SchoolKits for Congo seek Student Advocates to invite their own school communities to engage in meaningful and rewarding global giving. Advocates will present the program to decision-makers, show them the positive impact that involvement can have on both givers and receivers, and connect them with the resources necessary to complete the first gift cycle. Advocates may also assist with local publicity for the event. Advocates may be current school students or recent graduates.
