We are seeking Tour Guides to lead visitor tours through one of Newcastle's most iconic and historical sites. If you love meeting and communicating with people, come and join our friendly team of volunteers. This role is available 1 - 2 days per week, including weekends.

Your excellent customer service skills and friendly nature are required for this Role. We are looking for volunteers to assist visitors and tourists in our kiosk. You will meet and greet local and international tourists, provide information and make sales. The Role involves dealing with EFTPOS machines and cash handling. Experience in these areas is helpful but not essential.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Volunteer Office Assistant. This role is available up to 3 days per week Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Office hours are from 10 am to 3 pm. Office duties will include computer entry, taking telephone calls, general administration and minor office cleaning. No previous experience is required, but familiarity with Windows 10 or the equivalent is preferred.

Calling all "kids at heart"! The Newcastle and Hunter Toy Library is seeking a regular volunteer to assist with the running of the Toy Library sessions on Saturday mornings. The Toy Library is a terrific service based at New Lambton Library and run entirely by volunteers.

Work with this friendly and positive team to actively engage with and support young people on program. Programs may include face to face activities such as Activity days, Camps, and ‘Connect’ sessions (online). Your communication and interpersonal skills and ability to build rapport will assist and support young people whilst on Program, building a relationship of trust. We’re looking for committed/dedicated volunteers to help run our sailing programs on large racing yachts. Some sailing experience is preferred but not essential, however, a love of helping young people be the best they can be is a must. Drive For Life is a local community service program designed to assist young people in obtaining their 120 logbook hours of practice driving. Volunteers and learners meet on site and utilise three vehicles for practice driving. We are looking for a willing hand to maintain the vehicles by washing, detailing, refueling, checking oil and tyres, etc.

We are looking for friendly, caring, chatty people to assist our residents and activities staff at our Teralba facility. To help with duties such as room visits, to spend time talking with residents, taking residents on walks outdoors, helping get residents to & from activities etc. Also to give some assistance to staff e.g. preparing decorations for theme days, crafts, basic office duties like laminating, stapling and compiling documents.

Help young people attain their provisional licence by providing safe and supportive driving instruction. Educate learners on vehicle controls, road rules, defensive driving techniques, and manoeuvres to pass driving tests. The role involves tailoring lessons to suit each student’s abilities, instilling safe driving habits, emphasising the importance of defensive driving, hazard perception, & accident prevention, providing feedback and maintaining records of progress, lessons and logbook hours.

If you enjoy working in the outdoors, this is the role for you. You'll assist with mowing, whipper-snipping, hand weeding, spraying, mulching and planting. All PPE and equipment (self-propelled mowers, whipper-snippers etc) provided. All chemical use is under strictly controlled conditions. No previous gardening/groundsperson experience required, but would be useful.

You'd help maintain their online presence in order to maximise impact and promote their programs and activities. You'll have the opportunity to use your creativity writing, sharing, and posting.

Do you like boats and sailing? This role involves collecting a 3.5M poly boat on a purpose-built aluminium trailer with an electric start 4-stroke motor and towing it 500 meters to a public boat ramp. Launch the boat with the help of club members, drive the boat out onto Throsby Creek and lay markers to create a sailing course. Return to shore and be on standby to collect distressed model boats if required. When racing has concluded, collect the buoys & return the boat to its original location.

The monthly planting day is held on the 3rd Sunday of each month. You'll join this dedicated team who use these days to expand the revegetation of natural bushland across currently cleared areas. No experience necessary. Over the past 25 years, this program has led to the creation of a National Park!

Your good driving record, ability to work in a team and physical fitness will be highly regarded in this role. In addition to driving the vehicle, you'll be loading and unloading bulky (and sometimes heavy) items including deliveries and pickups. You will have an off-sider. National Criminal Check and current drivers licence (at least Class C, up to MR) are required.

Your basic sewing machine skills, or willingness to learn, will be useful in this role sewing wildlife rescue pouches and basket liners. Only straight line sewing, and patterns are cut along straight lines. All equipment is provided. Pouches and liners are sewn to specific sizes and designs and are given to local wildlife carers as needed. Timing is flexible - between 8am and 1pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Maintain and enhance your hospitality skills. Work within a supportive team environment and a beautiful garden setting. You will assist the Cafe Manager with customer service and food preparation. The role includes cleaning duties of the kitchen and café areas as well as the internal amenities. Days and hours are negotiable to suit your schedule.
