As a Local Coordinator, you will provide additional support to a High School Exchange student from overseas who is living with a host family and attending High School in your local community. A Local Coordinator must live within 2 hours of where a student is living. If you are interested in other cultures, young people and families, this role is perfect for you. You may have been an exchange student or host family yourself - but that is not a requirement.
Are you looking to make a real difference in someone’s life? Volunteer with Interchange and Host a young person living with disability. This extends their social network, offers them new opportunities and experiences, and provides a much needed break for their carer. Some volunteers have the young person stay at their place once a month. This also provides the young persons carer with some respite and support.
Are you looking to make a real difference in someone’s life? Volunteer with the Interchange Network of disability service providers and buddy up with a young person living with disability to spend regular time with them sharing hobbies or interests, going to the movies or a football game, or just hanging out watching your favourite shows at home.

We have heaps of fun, simple and rewarding opportunities to lend a hand for one to two hours on a Saturday morning at parkrun events across Australia. No training is required, roles are fully supported on the day and you can take part as often or as little as you would like.
