Abbeyfield Garran is a not for profit which provides affordable, inclusive, homelike and safe accommodation for people with a mild cognitive disability where residents can maintain their independence with dignity and choice. The Garran house is run by a volunteer management committee and employs a housekeeper to provide meals and support the residents on a day- to-day basis. We have 10 young adult residents.

Get2Know is looking for a passionate and detail-oriented Volunteer Support Coordinator who is able to use their understanding of the disability sector to make a real difference in the lives of NDIS participants. The right candidate will be highly compassionate and caring, be able to think outside the box, and possess exceptional verbal and written communication skills used to speak to our internal and external stakeholders.

The Roundabout Project is a volunteer peer support project that aims to assist participants with Disability to engage with our LGBTIQA+ community encouraging networking and connections. By sharing personal experiences and developing mutual peer-to-peer friendship, participants may gain a greater sense of connection to community and develop a deeper sense of belonging, self-esteem, and interpersonal trust.

Brainwave supports 1,400 children with brain illnesses and illnesses and their families across Australia to cope, adapt and thrive. As well as information and advice, therapy and equipment, we provide family activities to enable families to get out of their home and meet other families. Shows and events provide free tickets and we are seeking a volunteer to help us apply for these charity tickets to enable families supported by us to attend.

As a start-up not-for profit peak body, PRECI is currently run entirely by volunteers. We require a volunteer with skills in grant writing, who can support the Directors to apply for grants to support the vision of PRECI! Your skills will assist us in ensuring that children with disability and their families receive high quality support from their services and supports.

Telelink Connectors and admin support volunteers help support one of the longest running programs to assist people that are blind or low vision to live the life that they choose. The Telelink program provides special interest group discussion's for blind and low vision people all the way around Australia to interact with one another via phone with a volunteer facilitator. The connection volunteer is charged with connecting the groups on a regular connection schedule.

This exciting role involves interpreting our clients' communication to family members, and medical and other support staff. The role is suitable for students learning AUSLAN.
