The Garran house is run by a volunteer management committee and employs a housekeeper to provide meals and support the residents on a day- to-day basis. We have 10 young adult residents.

The day is broken into several shifts and you would be required to have our phone diverted to yours for a shift a week, a fortnight or month, depending on your availability. As a Local Coordinator, you will provide additional support to a High School Exchange student from overseas who is living with a host family and attending High School in your local community. A Local Coordinator must live within 2 hours of where a student is living. If you are interested in other cultures, young people and families, this role is perfect for you. You may have been an exchange student or host family yourself - but that is not a requirement.
