The museum houses an extensive collection of historical photos, research & reference material, as well as displays of Heritage lifestyle objects regarding the history of the region. A Museum Asst. would Meet and Greet visitors, guide them through the society's rooms, be able to maintain the library & the museum and open the cottage timely. On the job training will be provided.

An exciting opportunity exists for you to volunteer to assist us in running a Road Safety Program called ‘bstreetsmart’ at Qudos Bank Arena from 20-22 August 2024. Cairns Children’s Museum is a not-for-profit whose mission is to offer hands-on, interactive, educational exhibits and play spaces for the children in Cairns and surrounds. Our aim is to become a space that inspires children to play, explore, wonder and be curious about all things STEAM. We have a range of exhibits and interactive experiences for children to engage with, including a wind tunnel, the longest kaleidoscope in the southern hemisphere and our imaginative play area, Tiny Town!

We are on the hunt for art enthusiasts with a passion for sharing their love for the arts with visitors to the gallery. Volunteers must be double vaccinated.

We are seeking general volunteers who are reliable, enthusiastic, and have an ability to learn new skills. Other attributes include having a positive attitude, clean personal presentation and enjoy meeting people.

It is a varied position where no two days will be the same, providing a rewarding and welcoming learning experience to the Museum through guided visits to the public. This role requires a well presented individual, with good communication and interpersonal skills. Full training and an introduction will be provided to the Museum exhibits. The Museum is open Monday to Saturday, with two guides or hosts working together. Volunteers must be vaccinated.
