Café Connect is located within Burnie Brae Centre and offers our members delicious food and coffee. We are looking for volunteers to assist us in the kitchen.

Sunday 26th May 2024 A family-friendly, fun-filled morning requires no special skills, experience, or training – just your presence and enthusiasm. Some tasks may include directing and encouraging participants around the course, selling merchandise, and handing out participants' packs. There is even a role for the keen bike riders out there! We need volunteers on the day from 6.45 a.m. to approximately midday in various roles.

Habitat for Humanity Australia requires volunteers for repair and maintenance work on crisis accommodation. The program benefits disadvantaged and socially isolated members of the community. There is a range of volunteer opportunities both in and around Brisbane and in regional centres. No skills are required! When studying for the HSC, it can often feel as though receiving private tutoring is a huge leg up towards achieving your academic goals. The question this led us to was: Is it a disadvantage for students whose families can’t afford tutoring, or don’t have the time to help their children with study?

The brave solo refugee Mums who make SchoolKits for Congo also make beautiful buntings from bright African fabrics, and teach other Mums to do the same. We sell them in Australia and return the proceeds to the makers so that they can pay the school fees for their children to be educated. We are looking for stallholders who could add a product to their range, and for representatives who can show buntings to potential retailers and customers.

SchoolKits for Congo seek Student Advocates to invite their own school communities to engage in meaningful and rewarding global giving. Advocates will present the program to decision-makers, show them the positive impact that involvement can have on both givers and receivers, and connect them with the resources necessary to complete the first gift cycle. Advocates may also assist with local publicity for the event. Advocates may be current school students or recent graduates.
