Way Finding Volunteers help families navigate their way around the Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH).Everyday QCH sees more than 1000 families come through the doors and the Way Finders are often the first point of contact for worried and often hurried parents, offering a welcoming smile and a gentle guiding hand.

As an Operating Theatre Recovery volunteer, you will work closely with staff to support the post-anaesthetic care of patients by providing comfort, as well as reconnecting and regulating caregiver visits. Volunteers also support the Queensland Children’s Hospital Recovery staff by answering the phones and maintaining comfort supplies.

Provide support to parents and carers entering the operating suites at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Volunteers help ease the anxiety of a child’s surgical journey by working closely with medical staff to provide information and emotional support to parents and carers.

Help facilitate play, activities and distraction for patients, siblings and visitors at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Join our volunteer team to provide moments of happiness and social connection in the hospital environment.

The Carindale Toy Library is looking for enthusiastic volunteers that can help us out for 2 hours at least once a month. We are open every second Saturday, and one Monday a month, from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. The Carindale Toy Library has been around for over 20 years and aims to enrich children development through play.

Family Support Volunteers visit families needing support, encouragement, and information to enable them to better understand their children's developmental needs. They assist families to respond more appropriately to challenging behaviours and enhance the self-esteem of parents and their children. Family Support Volunteers also provide practical help and emotional support through the development of a supportive relationship.

We are looking for experienced volunteers to become Volunteer Visitors and regularly visit with lonely elderly people living in an Aged Care homes in the Morningside area. Childhood Cancer Support welcomes volunteers from corporate organisations to volunteer at our charity. We have various tasks for your team from gardening, mowing etc to inventory control and helping us prepare an accommodation unit to be ready for a new oncology family to move into. As a vital accommodation provider for children with cancer and their families, we always have a multitude of jobs to be done by volunteers. No cost to volunteers - only your time.
