Andy's Place operates a drop-in center every Thursday morning from 8 to 11 am for vulnerable and homeless people in Brisbane City. We are looking for an additional supervisor to volunteer on 1 Thursday morning a month from 7.30 to 11.30 am to set up tables, chairs, and breakfast, and supervise 2-3 volunteers.

The Inala Multicultural Festival is a FREE one-day-only event, available to families in our local community and surrounding areas. It combines multicultural performances, rides, great food and diverse stalls. Way Finding Volunteers help families navigate their way around the Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH).Everyday QCH sees more than 1000 families come through the doors and the Way Finders are often the first point of contact for worried and often hurried parents, offering a welcoming smile and a gentle guiding hand.

As an Operating Theatre Recovery volunteer, you will work closely with staff to support the post-anaesthetic care of patients by providing comfort, as well as reconnecting and regulating caregiver visits. Volunteers also support the Queensland Children’s Hospital Recovery staff by answering the phones and maintaining comfort supplies.

Provide support to parents and carers entering the operating suites at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Volunteers help ease the anxiety of a child’s surgical journey by working closely with medical staff to provide information and emotional support to parents and carers.

Help facilitate play, activities and distraction for patients, siblings and visitors at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Join our volunteer team to provide moments of happiness and social connection in the hospital environment.

The Carindale Toy Library is looking for enthusiastic volunteers that can help us out for 2 hours at least once a month. We are open every second Saturday, and one Monday a month, from 10:00 am till 12:00 pm. The Carindale Toy Library has been around for over 20 years and aims to enrich children development through play.

Family Support Volunteers visit families needing support, encouragement, and information to enable them to better understand their children's developmental needs. They assist families to respond more appropriately to challenging behaviours and enhance the self-esteem of parents and their children. You will be helping people to connect through regular conversations, digital skills, setting up emails, MyGov accounts, help them with online shopping, possibly setting up their resumes, looking for work etc. You will also connect people with other services like Centrelink, food services, housing, healthcare and counselling.
