The Program for After School Studies is targeted at young people from CALD backgrounds between the ages of 8 - 25 years old to assist with homework, reading, writing, acquiring speaking skills and study skills. The Vinnies Roadhouse provides a food engagement program from the Griffin Centre, Civic. Vinnies Roadhouse provides a safe and welcoming environment for people experiencing, or at risk of homelessness, and people experiencing social isolation. This role supports the daily operations of Vinnies Roadhouse by providing access to a hot evening meal, material aid, support, and referral services.

All donations of baby and kids items are checked for quality, safety, cleanliness and appropriateness before being distributed to families in need. The volunteer role involves thoroughly checking clothes, toys, linen and books, cleaning them when needed and packing into gift packs, and thoroughly cleaning larger items such as prams, bassinets, car seats and high chairs.

Our Mentor Program works with men from all sorts of backgrounds who are interviewed, screened and trained to be matched with a young man (10-18 years old). The Mentors are usually older than 24 years old and have had their own unique journey through life and want to give back. The Program requires a commitment of 2 years with an expectation of a couple of hours 1:1 contact per fortnight.

ACT Wildlife rehabilitates injured, sick and orphaned native animals to return them to the wild. Our interface with the public is our 24/7 phone. The day is broken into several shifts and you would be required to have our phone diverted to yours for a shift a week, a fortnight or month, depending on your availability. You will be working from home and have access to our online database to record calls.
