Lifeline Canberra exists to support people in crisis and save the lives of those experiencing thoughts of suicide. Our Telephone Crisis Support Volunteers are essential in making a difference in the lives of Canberrans who call 13 11 14.

Vinnies Canberra Goulburn has a diverse and dedicated workforce comprising of over 500 members, 1500 volunteers and 240 plus employees who work side by side serving those less fortunate in our communities. Vinnies Canberra/Goulburn runs a range of Youth programs to provide young people with a place of belonging and support, giving young people the opportunity to build social confidence and life-long resilience.

The Program for After School Studies is targeted at young people from CALD backgrounds between the ages of 8 - 25 years old to assist with homework, reading, writing, acquiring speaking skills and study skills. Students can be tutored in a variety of subjects depending on their need. Sessions can be held face-to-face or online.

A Driver Mentors’ role is to accompany the Learner Driver during driving sessions to help them attain the number of supervised driving hours required for their logbook, providing constructive feedback and conveying the importance of road safety along the way. It is important to note the young person will have some experience on the road and your role is to consolidate the driving skills learned with a professional Driving Instructor. Mentoring Men has available volunteer positions for men to be professionally trained to support other men in our community. You will have the opportunity to help and guide a man in need and be a part of our organisation's mission to support men in their life journey. All men regardless of their background or beliefs are welcome to apply for our program.

Our Mentor Program works with men from all sorts of backgrounds who are interviewed, screened and trained to be matched with a young man (10-18 years old). The Mentors are usually older than 24 years old and have had their own unique journey through life and want to give back. The Program requires a commitment of 2 years with an expectation of a couple of hours 1:1 contact per fortnight.

Would you like to work one on one with a migrant or refugee to help them with their language and cultural needs? Our volunteers help people to become more independent and to learn how to communicate in the English language.

ACT Wildlife rehabilitates injured, sick and orphaned native animals to return them to the wild. Our interface with the public is our 24/7 phone. The day is broken into several shifts and you would be required to have our phone diverted to yours for a shift a week, a fortnight or month, depending on your availability. You will be working from home and have access to our online database to record calls.
