Mentoring Men has available volunteer positions for men to be professionally trained to support other men in our community. You will have the opportunity to help and guide a man in need and be a part of our organisation's mission to support men in their life journey. All men regardless of their background or beliefs are welcome to apply for our program.

Our Mentor Program works with men from all sorts of backgrounds who are interviewed, screened and trained to be matched with a young man (10-18 years old). The Mentors are usually older than 24 years old and have had their own unique journey through life and want to give back. The Program requires a commitment of 2 years with an expectation of a couple of hours 1:1 contact per fortnight.

Would you like to work one on one with a migrant or refugee to help them with their language and cultural needs? Our volunteers help people to become more independent and to learn how to communicate in the English language.

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of children from migrant or refugee backgrounds? Are you dedicated to fostering connection, belonging, and academic growth? There is a strong focus on developing literacy skills and a love of reading through reading books together. Volunteers will also provide help with homework if required.

The Multicultural Hub Canberra (mHub) and St Vincent de Paul Migrant and Refugee Program are excited to announce the formation of our collaborative Multicultural Youth Reference Group. Educational Mentors (Tutors) provide 1 on 1 educational assistance 1-2 hours a week to vulnerable children aged 6-16. Most of the children/young people referred to us are about 2 yrs behind their age in at least English & Maths. You can help us break a child out of a cycle of poor educational achievement. If you are over 20 and want to tutor a child in English, Maths or whatever you feel confident in please apply now!

Kids Friend mentors spend 2-3 hours a week with a vulnerable child aged from 6-16, for friendship and fun. You become a special person outside the family who supports the child's social and emotional needs with an aim to increase the child's confidence, personal skills and resilience. You can take the child to visit places within the community or your own home to bake, play video games, or just hang out.
