The Library Reception Desk Volunteer is the friendly and welcoming face of Genealogy SA. They provide guidance to members, visitors and those who call us to use the Society’s family history information resources. In this role, volunteers will find themselves assisting a variety of people with their genealogical research, providing them with a great opportunity for growth in their own learning.

Modbury Hospital Guide Volunteers are based at the Hospital's main entrance and assist patients and visitors with directions to their destination. Guide Volunteers position suit someone who is interested in interacting with the public, able to deal with occasional stressful situations, and physically fit enough to stand and walk much of the shift. A Guide can be rostered Mon – Fri and shifts can vary from 4 hours to a full day. Training and induction are provided.

The Lyell McEwin Hospital serves a community of people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. Some people may find the hospital difficult to navigate finding the ward or service they need. Guides are often the first face a visitor sees when entering the hospital and have the important role of greeting patients and visitors as they arrive.

Volunteers in this role provide support and guidance to the visitors and staff of the Modbury Hospital Outpatients Department by greeting patients on arrival and directing patients to the required area.

Some of our elderly residents need a person for social support to attend outings to appointments with them in the community. Do you wish to share some of your time assisting them in the role.

Our reservoir reserves are home to beautiful landscapes and unique flora and fauna. Join a group of like-minded people and help nurture these special places. You'll be actively involved in caring for your local reservoir reserve and enhancing the experience for visitors. Activities include bushcare, revegetation, habitat improvement, biodiversity surveys (e.g. birds, frogs, plants, tree hollows), fish stocking and supporting community events.
