Position Objectives: * The general maintenance & support volunteer should oversee the maintenance and cleanliness of the gardens & premises. * Ensure they are operation in accordance with policy and procedures, including, but not limited to; Occupational Health, Safety and Welfare (OHS&W).

One of our independent residents living at our Eldercare homes would like someone to accompany her on outings to the shops, and other locations once a week. This role will be customer focused, providing company and support to get up and about outside the home.

This in-patient clinical unit focuses on the needs of the older person with complex medical, social and discharge planning needs. A Gem Ward Volunteer assists staff in providing regular groups for Ward patients and encouraging them to participate. This enhances the service provided by increasing individual patient support.

Volunteers bring a ‘non-clinical’ aspect of service to the Emergency Department which aims to provide support to those who are ill or confronting sudden trauma or loss.

Work with staff of Cardiology to ensure that patients and visitors needs are met, and that the experience of staying on the ward is effectively recorded for quality assurance, and improvement for future services. Provide support to the administrations staff of the Unit.

The volunteers will work in partnership with paid staff of the ward, under the supervision of the Team Leader to enhance the quality of Palliative Care experience in a “non - clinical holistic way” for patients as well as the relatives and friends of the patients.
