The Event Volunteer is the friendly and welcoming face of Genealogy SA at events and workshops both on site at the Genealogy Library and at other venues. He/she is responsible for promoting the Society as an organisation of choice in regard to family history research and membership. The role also involves assisting with the set-up for the event, such as setting out chairs, laying out brochures, meeting guests and checking registration lists as guests arrive.

The Library Reception Desk Volunteer is the friendly and welcoming face of Genealogy SA. They provide guidance to members, visitors and those who call us to use the Society’s family history information resources. In this role, volunteers will find themselves assisting a variety of people with their genealogical research, providing them with a great opportunity for growth in their own learning.

A unique unpaid experience as an Administration and Support Volunteer required to support the team at the Historic Ketch Falie office, by assisting with a wide range of important administrational and support service desk tasks and supporting our crew for 1-2 days per week (Wednesdays and Thursdays weekly).

The volunteer role involves maintaining the National Railway Museum's diesel and petrol amusement devices. Must be a qualified motor mechanic.

We are looking for an experienced Treasurer to join the team of volunteers that comprise the Management Committee and to oversee our financial operations.

Must have a Certificate III in Electrotechnology Electrician and active registration as an electrician through Consumer and Business Services. Tasks include general electrical repair work and some new electrical installations.

Experience with painting and spray painting required, including correct WH&S requirements. Tasks include spray painting for locomotive and carriage restoration work, as well as other general maintenance painting around the site. Role is on an as-needs basis, not continuous weekly.

Experience in cleaning preferred but not required. Tasks include cleaning of rolling stock and historic artefacts, as well as general cleaning of kitchens, toilets and offices. Physical work such as bending, vacuuming, sweeping and some light lifting is required. Requires attention to detail and care. Non-toxic cleaning.

Experience in retail work preferred but not required. Conductors and guards assist with loading passengers onto train, handling the sale of tickets, and assisting the driver with physical work as required. Role is seasonal.

Experience in railway track work required. Tasks include carrying out building and maintenance of railway tracks. Role involves heavy lifting.

Experience in carpentry and/or cabinet work required. Workshop and tools provided. Tasks include creating infrastructure for displays, and general maintenance work. Must be proficient in the safe use of wood working tools and machines.

Carriage building skills and experience are required for this role. Tasks include restoration work on historic railway carriages. Must be proficient in the safe use of wood working tools and machines.

As an E-waste and Chemical Support Volunteer, you will provide advise and assist members of the public when dropping off their recycling at a self-service E-waste drop-off facility, located at the Council Depot, 6 Newton Rd, Campbelltown.

As one of the Repair Volunteers, you will assist visitors to the repair cafe to: * fix their broken/damaged household items. You will already have the skills to fix one or more of the following: * electrical/electronic/mechanical items * clothing/bedding/other * textiles, jewellery, toys, woodwork, metalwork, bicycles, * and/or other general items You will be able to provide advice to visitors about whether specific items * can be fixed & the parts needed.

EMS Snorkel Guides volunteer at weekend community snorkels or weekday school snorkels, starting as a trainee snorkel guide assistant, helping the lead snorkel guide in the water with small groups. Free accredited training in 'Lead Snorkel Activities' is available for volunteers who wish to gain more experience and become a Lead Snorkel Guide. Snorkels take place at various locations along the Adelaide coast as well as regional areas in SA.

Our reservoir reserves are home to beautiful landscapes and unique flora and fauna. Join a group of like-minded people and help nurture these special places. You'll be actively involved in caring for your local reservoir reserve and enhancing the experience for visitors. Activities include bushcare, revegetation, habitat improvement, biodiversity surveys (e.g. birds, frogs, plants), fish stocking and supporting community events.

Friends of Cleland National Park is looking for volunteers who will join us to work in close cooperation with the rangers to regenerate the environment for the endangered Southern Brown Bandicoots in this most popular & special part of Adelaide.

Must hold a Boiler Basic (BB) or Boiler Advanced (BA) Boiler certificate/qualification. Steam train firing/driving experience is desirable, but in-house training will be provided. Role involves driving the small steam trains (amusement devices) at the National Railway Museum and at the Semaphore and Fort Glanville Railway.
