Legacy Club of Inverell Inc

A voluntary organisation supporting our veterans' families.

In the inverell area we support 120 people, including 10 children.

We provide the following services:
• Personal response units (medical alarms) & key safes
• Heating payment in Winter & cooling payment in Summer
• Christmas hamper/voucher & a Christmas party
• Low cost housing in the Legacy Units
• Card or present on beneficiary’s birthday
• Social inclusion through day trips, home visits & other programmes
• Information, advice & referrals to other agencies
• Financial assistance
• Equipment loans
• Assistance completing & submitting forms (ie D800 travel claims)
• Assistance with pension applications
• Op Shop providing low cost clothing & household items
• Holidays via other Legacy Clubs
• Scholarships via other Clubs & providers
• Rehabilitation aids, appliances & home modifications via other organisations, the Sir Roden Cutler Fund or our own funds
• Assistance in dealing with service providers (ie making phone calls on behalf of beneficiaries to phone or electricity providers etc), particularly when the beneficiary has a hearing impairment
• Maintain a list of trusted tradespeople for the use of beneficiaries
• Newsletter
• Booking of DVA transport for medical appointments in other towns
• Education support & financial assistance for school fees, uniforms, shoes, stationery, a computer/tablet, internet, tutoring, child care, sport & other extra-curricular activities.
