About Western Port Festivals Inc.

The Western Port Festival has been running for over 40 years, originally starting in 1969 as a simple ceremony to commemorate the 900th year of the Battle of Hastings, at the then Shire of Hastings Offices.

Over the years is has grown into a large festival, now celebrating the entire region of Western Port, and is loved by the organisers, participants and attendees alike.

The Western Port Festival runs on the last weekend of February each year, in the lead up to Moomba as a regional community festival.

It is put together entirely by a volunteer committee with the support of local business and council, it is targeted towards families with young children, with free entry, an abundance of free activities and entertainment, and a 'no alcohol' policy.

It is wholeheartedly a community event, with most aspects of the festival being run by, and for, local community groups.

Event features include the annual street parade, wood chop, community market, BMX & Scooter Competitions, Kids Activities Area and workshops, model aircraft airshow, tourism tent, model boat show, craft displays, teddy bears picnic, CFA demonstrations and entertainers.

Other major features include, the main stage with live music, amusement rides and fireworks display, which always gives the event an exciting buzz.

It's a great event for the Western Port region and we'd love for you to be part of it.
