The George Institute for Global Health

Driving Change, an initiative of the George Institute for Global Health, offers an affordable and accessible solution to the issue of driver licensing for Aboriginal youth. Obtaining a driver’s license can be a particularly confusing and demanding task for youth. Having access to a car, knowing someone who can supervise you and being able to reach your required 120 hours can be very difficult for many young people. Chronically low rates of driver licensing in Aboriginal communities act as a barrier to employment, good health, quality of life and many other beneficial opportunities. Driving Change needs willing community members who can offer their time to help supervise new drivers.
