About Co-operative Home Care
Creating Change with Worker Co-operative Social Enterprise Businesses.
Our mission as a worker owned co-operative is to improve the quality of life for both our employees/members and the people we care for.
As a worker cooperative, our business is owned and managed democratically by its employees. The model has proven to be an effective tool for creating and maintaining sustainable, dignified jobs; generating wealth; improving the quality of life of workers; and promoting community and local economic development, particularly for people who lack access to business ownership or even sustainable work options.
We currently provide training and employment to people unemployed or underemployed people wanting to work as frontline aged care and disability support workers.
We would like to expand the business model and training programme to include other business in our portfolio of programmes. This would include Home Cleaning, Paper Shredding and Garden and Home Maintenance services.
