About Access Health & Community (AccessHC)
Access Health and Community (AccessHC) is a not-for-profit health and community service (previously Manningham Community Health Services (MCHS) and Inner East Community Health). It has a family of health and community services. AccessHC is committed to providing services for our diverse community
It supports people of every age, from children, youth, families, carers and older people, to meet their health needs and enjoy healthier and happier lives.
Its caring and qualified team members extend their expertise across general health care, doctors, dentistry, allied health care, counselling, alcohol and drug support, child and family services and social support programs to offer the best professional care and personalised support.
The MCHS team within AccessHC is specifically a health service offering individual allied health care, along with a variety of different group programs for the people in Manningham. It also runs an Early Intervention Service for children 0-6 years old. Staff are clinically trained in many areas of practice, including physiotherapy, podiatry, dietetics, mental health, occupational therapy, speech pathology, early childhood - to name a few.
Volunteers contribute to MCHS in many areas, including:
•volunteer drivers in its Transport Program
. volunteers in the Strong People Stay Young exercise program
. leaders in the Walking Group Program
•helpers in the Music Group Program
•helpers in the Artlinks Program
•administrative volunteers
•telephone volunteers in the Connecting Melbourne Program (checking well-being of isolated seniors)
