About Central Australian Aviation Museum

The Aviation Museum celebrates the spirit, effort, and courage of the people who founded Aviation in the centre of Australia and is located on the site of Alice Springs‘ first aerodrome where central Australia’s aviation industry all began.

The aviation precinct is located within the Araluen Cultural Precinct - the site features the Bellman, Connellan and Heron Hangars, Kookaburra display, Dove aircraft mounted in carpark, signage at base and suicide flight memorial. Most displays have informative signage.

Everyone involved with the Aviation Museum is a volunteer. Entry is by donation.
