Gold Coast Eisteddfod

The Gold Coast Tropicarnival Festival commenced in 1982. One of the many events that took place was the music, dance and drama competition, now known as the Gold Coast Eisteddfod (GCE) and the only Tropicarnival event remaining.
The Gold Coast Eisteddfod has seen more than one million feet grace its stages providing opportunities and encouragement for young performers whilst promoting the performing arts in all genres of music, dance and drama. It is the largest competition of its kind in Australia, staged from July to September each year.
Providing a platform for the plethora of youth talent to compete, enjoy audience interaction and grow from professional feedback, this iconic event has been a feature in the City’s event calendar nurturing and encouraging hundreds of thousands of young performers.
