Himilo Community Connect

Himilo Community Connect is a community inclusion and support program, funded by the State Government.
Established in early 2016, Himilo Community Connect was formed by members of the Somali community as well as State and Local Government representatives, community organisations and other key stakeholders.
‘Himilo’ meaning positive aspirations in the Somali language, does as it says and aims to represent ‘Positive aspirations to Connect Communities.’ The project works in partnership with local and state organisations to best serve the West Heidelberg Somali Australian community. Through initiatives like the Youth Leadership Program, Homework Club, Playgroup, Women’s Support Group, Youth Voice Group etc. we are best able to empower our community.
