About Edmund Rice Services – Mt Atkinson
Edmund Rice Services Mt Atkinson (ERSMA) is a not-for-profit community-based organisation which aims to develop partnerships with local community organisations and neighbourhoods to deliver community development projects. Underpinning this strategy is the belief in the value of connecting people, strengthening the capacities of community members and having an early intervention response to social concerns.
Mt Atkinson Community Centre (MACC) is a community-based space that is managed by Edmund Rice Services Mt Atkinson (ERSMA). Currently, MACC is a beautiful farmhouse with access to 500 hectares of land to deliver a variety of activities including mountain bike riding, high and low ropes challenge courses, archery, art, bush cooking, food growing and more.
We strive for communities to be healthy, integrated, supportive and participatory and which are also intercultural, engaged in lifelong learning and are resilient in response to modern day challenges. Our particular interest is to encourage engagement using a nature-based lens for any activities onsite at Mt Atkinson as well as the beautiful natural places in Melbourne’s West.
