Kara House

For 42 years, Kara House has provided highly secure accommodation and outreach services to Victorian women and children experiencing family violence, who are in need of relocation to ensure their safety. We deliver real outcomes, by empowering our clients with informed
choices and people-centred support services, to assist them to take control of their lives and create a safer future.
In 2019 we helped 354 women and 199 children from 45 different linguistic and cultural backgrounds. In addition to crisis accommodation, we provide specialist family violence
information, emotional support, client advocacy and children’s services. We also offer outreach services to women and children living in their own accommodation in the wider
community.
We are committed to improving the long-term outcomes of our clients by developing programs above our core-services, which educate and provide them with tools to move forward and reduce the propensity to return to an abusive situation.
