About Pride Western Australian Incorporated

Pride WA has been an integral part of the Western Australian community since 1989. The association grew out of a community movement protesting laws that actively discriminated against members of the pride community and evolved to incorporate a festival and events calendar. The Pride Community includes lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer (LGBTIQ), other people of diverse sexuality and gender, and their supporters.

The mission and principal purpose of Pride Western Australia Incorporated is to encourage and promote community, culture and the arts by celebrating the community, cultural expression and performing talent of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex, queer and all people of diverse sexuality and gender living in Western Australia.

Pride WA is best known for its annual PrideFEST event, which includes the Perth Pride Parade and Fairday celebrations. Pride WA also runs regularly community social activities and other events throughout the year.
