Southern Migrant and Refugee Centre

SMRC is a not-for-profit community based agency, in operation since 1993. We provide services to migrants and refugees living in the southern region of Melbourne, covering the local government areas of City of Greater Dandenong, City of Casey and Shire of Cardinia and surrounding areas.
SMRC’s vision is committed to ensure that all activities incorporate values of empowerment, resilience, respect, diversity, integrity and inclusion. We work with clients using a strengths-based approach acknowledging their knowledge, skills and experience to rebuild their lives and establish themselves in their new environment.
Our mission is to ensure that our clients achieve sustainable settlement outcomes, competencies and transition them to independence in partnership with other mainstream service systems.
