About City of Rockingham
The City of Rockingham has a Volunteering Strategy (2016-2022) which has key actions items addressing the community needs in volunteering.
- We provide ongoing training opportunities for VIOS located within the City on various topics including governance, volunteer management and skill development. This training is available to all community groups, incorporated and non-incorporated organisations and clubs, including sporting clubs.
- The city runs three Corporate Volunteering Programs a year providing volunteers to local comuunity groups and volunteer involving organisations.
- The City has its own City of Rockingham volunteers program with volunteers in a number of City departments including: Autumn Centre, Rockingham Arts Centre, Rockingham Connect Transport services, libraries, landfill, Community Safety, Event volunteers and much more. Support, guidance and training opportunities are provided to City volunteers.
- The City hosts three significant volunteering events per year this includes : Volunteer Recognition Celebration (during National Volunteer Week), Picnic on the Green (during Thank a Volunteer Day) and City Volunteer Event (Held for City of Rockingham Volunteers).
