About Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Service
The Greater Dandenong Volunteer Resource Service provides a personalised service through either face to face interviews or over the phone, to assist organisations in finding the right volunteer and volunteers find the right volunteer role for them. We also train volunteers for placement within local community organisations, creating a strong community sector as well as deliver training to managers who work with volunteers so that volunteers receive strong support.
The opportunities through voluntary work are many and varied. Not-for-profit organisations include volunteers in roles related to arts, culture, education, environment, health, emergency services, sport and international development. Volunteers might be involved in research, retail sales, home maintenance or food preparation. Volunteers can be any age or nationality and are invited to discover the number of opportunities available to them.
South East Volunteers was established in 1985, originally named the Waverley Volunteer Outreach, and later named the Monash Volunteer Resource Centre. Its purpose was to coordinate the recruitment and training of volunteers for community organisations in the City of Waverley, but soon grew to include all of the City of Monash, and to provide other community services, including social support, transport, and a safety register, as well as running a police check service for community organisations.
Our Mission: We partner with the community in pursuit, provision and growth of volunteering opportunities and social support. We provide a sense of social interaction and safety for vulnerable members of the community. Our services belong to local residents and enhance lifestyles.
