About The Lodge Youth Support Service Inc.
The Lodge Youth Support Service is a specialised homelessness non-profit community organisation providing medium to long term accommodation with twenty-four-hour support for up to five at-risk young people aged 16-25 years. Most young people accessing our services are from disadvantaged backgrounds and as a result many have experienced homelessness, trauma, isolation, family breakdown and poverty. Here at The Lodge we support these young people to address these issues and equip them with the skills necessary to live independently, break the cycle of homelessness and engage positively in the community.
The Lodge is a Living Skills Program and focuses on increasing the life skills of our young people.
We place a strong emphasis on our program; supporting our Young People to access community events that incorporate connections, recreation, livings skills, the environment and cultural events. Through experiences they gain knowledge and resilience.
We are looking for a variety of volunteers to assist with living skills workshops, homework, yard maintenance and to make and distribute food hampers to ex-residents and families on a Tuesday. There are about 5 deliveries to be made and all within our local area, (aprox 2 hours).
