About Flinders Foundation

Flinders Foundation is dedicated to supporting medical research and patient care across the Flinders Medical precinct.

Established in 1976 as The Flinders Medical Centre Research Foundation – a group of dedicated doctors and administrators saw the need for a foundation to “… advance the practice and science of medicine in the widest sense” and support research work “without which advances in patient care cannot occur…”

This remains true today.

In the decades since, the name may have changed, but Flinders Foundation has continued to build a formidable partnership with South Australia’s 700-bed major tertiary hospital, Flinders Medical Centre, the Southern Adelaide Local Health Network, and the prestigious Flinders University. This partnership approach across the Flinders medical precinct ensures funding supports some of the most talented, innovative and skilled clinicians and researchers in the world who are working tirelessly across a range of illnesses and disease.
