About Gymnastics Queensland
Gymnastics Queensland (GQ) is the peak body for Gymnastics in Queensland and is affiliated with Gymnastics Australia the controlling body for the sport of Gymnastics in Australia. The Association is recognised by all Government and sporting bodies within Queensland as the governing body for Gymnastics within this State. The Association also maintains affiliation with relevant State Sporting Governing bodies such as the Queensland Olympic Council, Queensland Commonwealth Games Association and the Queensland Sports Federation.
Gymnastics Queensland embraces eight (7) official Gymsports of gymnastics, which are:
? Men’s Artistic Gymnastics (MAG)
? Women’s Artistic Gymnastics (WAG)
? Rhythmic Gymnastics (RG)
? Gymnastics For All (GFA), including Kindergym and Adult Gymnastics
? Aerobic Gymnastics (AER)
? Trampoline Gymnastics (TRP)
? Acrobatic Gymnastics(ACR)
Gymnastics Queensland has its State Office in “Sports House South” Main Street, in the inner Brisbane suburb of Woolloongabba. In addition, Gymnastics Queensland’s State Training Centre is located at the Sleeman Sports Complex, Chandler and houses our Queensland Academy of Sport Gymnastics Program.
Membership is current 123 Affiliated Clubs, 50,000 registered athletes and 1500 technical members. The Association provides a broad range of services and benefits to its membership and has a major focus on servicing GQ Clubs to ensure they are well equipped to professionally delivery quality gymnastic programs to the community
