About Maritime Museum of Tasmania
The museum is run almost entirely by volunteers and supported by entrance fees and our own fundraising activities.
Volunteers welcome the museum’s visitors at the admission counter and serve in the book and gift shops. Volunteers research enquiries and provide curatorial assistance with cataloguing artefacts and continually adding to our digital database of images. Volunteers also work on specific projects, such as conservation and display preparation, making an essential contribution to the growth and development of the museum.
