About Ngalla Maya Aboriginal Corporation

Ngalla Maya plays a continuing and growing role in “closing the gap” between Indigenous and other Australians. It does this through its WA PRISON REINTEGRATION PROGRAM, and the expansion of this program to at-risk Indigenous youth. Ngalla Maya’s program would also be ideal as a diversionary program in the Court system. The program is designed to reduce the number of Indigenous people in prison and to reduce recidivism. It does this by providing the following range of services; assistance with documentation, CV and job application assistance, links to education, culturally appropriate mentoring and counselling, accredited training and employment opportunities. All of these are designed to assist men, women and youth, upon release from Corrective Services, with the skills and opportunities to reintegrate into society on a permanent positive pathway.
