About Orana Early Support Project

We are an Early Intervention Volunteer Home Visiting Program to support mothers with new babies and young children under 3. Our Project matches families with trained volunteers to provide regular, reliable support to meet their needs. This can involve being an extra set of hands to help, looking after a baby to enable a mother to get some much needed sleep, supporting parents in attending appointments, linking parents to information and community services, or just being there to listen and offer encouragement. By visiting the same family regularly, the volunteers develop strong connections with the parents and children and their support can help parents to feel stronger, more capable and empowered to meet the needs of their child.

Our volunteers use their own experience of parenting as well as knowledge of up-to-date parenting information gained from ongoing training and communication with the coordinator to support parents.

We operate throughout the Sutherland Shire, including Kurnell and Bundeena.
