The service is aimed at helping Seniors who no longer drive to overcome loneliness and social isolation by getting out and about around Sydney. CarPal is like Uber for Seniors - minus the profit motive - and with the technology aspects removed so that Seniors can feel comfortable in accessing it.

By using the Federal Government's Be Connected learning program, you will be providing training or support to people who want to improve their digital skills. Your previous experience in running not-for-profit community-based programs would be highly valued in this role. The outline of this Companionship and Support Program has been developed. You'll assist in the finalisation of the Program, as well as assisting with workshop development and delivery. This 'new-start' NFP organisation aims to pilot this program within Newcastle and Lake Macquarie regions mid-2021. Experience with Word and PowerPoint as well as good grammar and spelling are required.

Volunteer Technology Tutors play a critical role in facilitating the roll-out of an innovative new tablet-based program, MyCH. Volunteers utilise their strong communication skills, patience and sound technology talent to assist older people to become familiar with their new tablet.

Peer Champions are people who are aged 50 years or older and are familiar with My Aged Care, or have lived experiences of the My Aged Care systems. Peer Champions guide their peers to understand, navigate and engage with the My Aged Care systems. This practical assistance is offered to people who live independently in the Peer Champion's local community.

Do you have experience in Lip Reading? Do you have the ability to teach people with hearing loss, the basics of Lip Reading? This organisation is running a program to support adults with hearing loss, to develop other ways to communicate and to be able to engage in conversations. We are looking for a person with teaching or tutoring abilities, patience, understanding of hearing loss and some lip reading experience to engage the group. Required on Thursdays - 9.30am to 12pm.
