The purpose of our Home Visit service is to reduce the social isolation of our clients who may be feeling disconnected from their community. Have you got a few spare hours to visit an elderly person on the Northern beaches ? Do you enjoy engaging with people and making a meaningful difference to the lives of others ? Shopping Support Volunteers are needed. There are older people in our community who need the support of a friendly, caring and reliable person to assist them with their grocery shopping. A lovely older lady would like a volunteer to visit her on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon for around an hour on a weekly basis either chatting over a cuppa, or going for a drive (she will drive her car) to the shops or the beach. Volunteering under the Aged Care Volunteer Visitor Scheme you will make a difference in the life of an older person by helping to reduce feelings of loneliness and isolation improve their overall wellbeing.

Our volunteer teams look after our clients' gardens, making them safe, tidy and enjoyable. VMCH is currently welcoming volunteers to participate in varied lifestyle activities at St Catherine's Aged care in Balwyn. There are numerous entertainment and lifestyle activities for you to choose to engage one or two residents with and you would provide a wonderful interlude which will enhance a resident's day. We don’t need you to have experience we just want you to be an active part of our team with ideas and enthusiasm and engage with residents to provide fun and entertainment.

VMCH is currently welcoming volunteers to engage with residents who have personalised activities which has been tailored to meet their individual interests, cultural background, and physical abilities, you would provide conversation and assistance to create a wonderful interlude which can enhance a resident's day. We don’t need you to have experience we just want you to be an active part of our team with ideas and enthusiasm and engage with residents to provide fun and entertainment.

An older man living in his own home would like you to visit him. You must be able to converse in Greek and can play board games, chat about Greece and other places of travel, or go for a walk together. Approximately an hour a fortnight or weekly at a time to suit both of you.
