POOPS WA is an incorporated non-profit association staffed entirely by volunteers. Our volunteers are police-cleared and have a Working with Children Check and provide a range of services including home visits, dog walking and transport to/from vet clinics or boarding kennels. We cater specifically for people over 65 years of age – or palliative-care patients of any age – who have no relatives or friends willing or able to take responsibility for their pets in times of need.

We are looking for outgoing volunteers who have the heart and passion to help us bring joy and satisfaction to our residents day. This role will see you visit our residents in their room to answer questions and provide support with setting up technology or helping them to better understand how to use their existing technology. Lack of transport is a common barrier for seniors to remain part of their community. Having no transport can stop them from doing the things they need to do, and leads to feelings of loneliness and isolation. If you enjoy driving, you can make a difference by helping with their transport needs to important medical appointments or social activities.

Our Social Centre volunteers work alongside our staff in social centres to provide a supportive place for older Australians to connect with others and engage in activities that look after their health and wellbeing. You will help to organise meaningful activities for our clients, such as music, arts, and craft sessions; gardening, and social outings in the community.
