About Rotary Club of Morialta SA

The Rotary Club of Morialta has 31 members and is a very active and dynamic club. Our membership fees are shared with our Club, our District and Rotary International. Rotary is dedicated to Service Above Self. Rotary Club members are all volunteers and are committed to local, national and international Community Service.

The Rotary Club of Morialta currently has two major Projects in operation. One is the community Workshop at Athelstone SA with 60 Senior Citizen members, open to women and managed by volunteers. It provides fellowship, friendship, skill sharing and manufacture of various products for personal and community use as well as for sale. Members report feeling engaged useful and experience an improvement of emotional wellbeing.

Our other major Project is one in its third year involving the training of Midwives in Papua New Guinea developing leadership skills in selected Midwives. It involves supporting a Mid wife studying in Adelaide and a buddy system involving Australian Midwives visiting Papua New Guinea

We also run a number of other projects. A short list follows: sponsoring youth to attend Siemens Science Summer Camp, Rotary Youth Leadership courses, Safe driving Courses for youth and awards for Secondary School Students who show commitment to Community Service.

We operate the Kiosk in Thorndon Park Campbelltown which provides a service to visitors at no cost to the Council and some fund raising.

We have supported Autism SA, Fred Hollows foundation, Foodbank SA and to other organizations such as Rotaract and the Salvation Army. We have committed to building water wells and storage in Africa and last year supported hay supplies to farmers in the far north suffering from feed shortages due to drought.
