Pets In The Park, Inc. (PITP)

Pets In The Park (PITP) is a professional veterinary-based charity that provides free preventative veterinary care to animals owned by people experiencing homelessness. In doing this, PITP aims to support, build relationships with, and improve the wellbeing of homeless people in society living with companion animals.

Many people who experience homelessness own pets that play a significant role in their lives. These much-loved animals offer unconditional love, companionship, emotional support, security, and a sense of purpose: basic human needs that are often not met elsewhere.

Pets In The Park strives to support and protect this important human-animal bond by providing essential veterinary services at monthly ‘pop-up’ clinics held in (currently) 15 locations throughout Australia. Our clinics are able to operate thanks to the dedicated contribution of hundreds of active volunteers (vets, vet nurses & support staff) and a part-time, remunerated Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The organisation and its programs are resourced through generous cash and in-kind donations from both members of the public & corporate sponsors.
