About this opportunity

At Inclusion Melbourne we innovate, communicate and advocate to further the inclusion of people with disability.
Here are the duties of the volunteer advocate:
1 Assist a person with disability to understand and participate in their Circle of Support gatherings.
a. Attend monthly meetings to contribute to a Circle of Support.
b. Actively support the person to understand and contribute in meetings and circle gatherings.
2 Understand the person with disability, their needs and goals.
a. Establish a relationship with a person with a disability and work with them and their Circle of Support.
b. With support of various stakeholders, understand the needs and goals of the individual.
3 Support and advocate for the service user
a. Assist the person to contact and or communicate with the key stakeholders regarding issues or solutions.
b. Assist the circle of support to arrange meetings and follow up agreed action items.

Additional requirements

National Police Certificate *.

-All applicants must be over 18 years of age
-All prospective volunteers are required to attend a one hour Volunteer Information Session
-2 positive professional reference checks
-An international police check is required for applicants who have resided overseas for 12 months or more in the last 10 years
-Provide a contact phone number on application

Time Required

2 - 3 hours Saturday afternoons
