The Event Volunteer is the friendly and welcoming face of Genealogy SA at events and workshops both on site at the Genealogy Library and at other venues. He/she is responsible for promoting the Society as an organisation of choice in regard to family history research and membership. The role also involves assisting with the set-up for the event, such as setting out chairs, laying out brochures, meeting guests and checking registration lists as guests arrive.

The Library Reception Desk Volunteer is the friendly and welcoming face of Genealogy SA. They provide guidance to members, visitors and those who call us to use the Society’s family history information resources. We are looking for mentors to help our participants reach their full potential.

Volunteers will help with ensuring that the BVHS Collection is managed and conserved in accordance with National Standards for Australian Museums and Galleries. The aim is to maintain the physical & electronic collection registers of Photographs and Objects within the museum and the machinery shed. We are gifted many items which need to be recorded so that they can be readily accessible when enquiries are made and when displays/exhibitions are being planned.
