The Aviation Heritage Museum is open seven days a week, 10am to 4pm, with volunteering roles available during these times, either at the museum, or the storage facility located in Willetton.

The Kwinana Heritage Group requires the services of a volunteer mechanic to work on old engines/motors in their machine shop. The prospective volunteer should have a working knowledge of mechanics. The Museum and buildings house a large collection of donated items that tell the story of the development of modern Kwinana.

An onsite painter is needed at Albany's Historic Whaling Station. You may also work in the wildlife park, and you will assist the onsite maintenance team. 5 hours one day a week is required, and you will be paid $40 for your fuel costs. Onsite OH&S Training will be conducted.

Volunteers required to assist in the conservation work shop to maintain trucks and cannons for display to the general public. Role is suitable for retired Mechanic or a person who can work on small engines. Must be an Australian citizen over 18 years old.

As a general handyman, your responsibilities may include wood and other repairs as well as painting. You are the ‘jack-of-all-trades’ and assist with general museum maintenance. Previous experience is desirable but on-the-job training will be provided.

The restoration team, of which you would be a part, have the responsibility for restoring and maintaining the locomotive and rollingstock collection at Rail Heritage WA with tasks according to the skills and interests of the volunteer. Previous experience desirable in working in relevant areas but on-the-job training will be provided.

As a museum presentation assistant, your duties include maintaining the presentation of the museum by cleaning carriages, sweeping floors, cleaning windows and more.
