Queensland Maritime Museum attracts more than 40,000 visitors per year including families, school groups, tour groups, inter-state and international visitors. The QMM is presently seeking an administrative support officer to assist Museum management with general clerical work and with day-to-day tasks which may arise.

We are seeking enthusiastic, friendly, motivated and reliable volunteers to assist us in providing customer service and front desk services to our museum's visitors on weekends as a preference, and also to anyone who is interested and able to volunteer on Special Event Days.

The Heritage Library Volunteer assists staff with the management of the collection housed in the Heritage Library. You will work alongside a small team of employees and volunteers undertaking preventative conservation and collection management.

If you enjoy engaging with primary school children and have a knack for storytelling, we would love to have you as part of our Museum Schools Team. You will be working with a small team in a supervised, supported environment. You don’t need to be a teacher – a delight in talking with kids is the main skill we are seeking. Our Schools Team lead school activities in the Museum, as well as running off-site programs through our History on the Move trailer. Volunteers must be vaccinated.
