The Merri-bek TAC L2P Program assists young learner drivers (aged between 16-21) who have no access to a supervising driver or vehicle, to gain the driving experience required to apply for a probationary licence. Volunteer mentors support young people to gain supervised driving experience in an L2P car - no cost to young people or volunteers. Volunteers undertake comprehensive VicRoads training.

PCYC Queensland’s Braking the Cycle program supports young people to complete their mandatory 100 hours of supervised driving in a safe and suitable vehicle with a volunteer mentor. The vehicles are kindly donated by the community. The Darebin TAC L2P Program assists disadvantaged young people under 21 years of age to engage in education, employment and the community by helping them gain the 120 hours of supervised driving experience needed to get their probationary licence.

We currently require a Mentor to assist Learner Drivers from underprivileged, marginalized and culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds to gain supervised driving experience to satisfy the Queensland Graduated Learner Driver requirements. (C) *Automatic vehicles will be supplied.

Mentoring of young people to complete 50 hours of supervised car driving experience. An automatic RYDE vehicle which is comprehensively insured, maintained and has a fuel card is provided. The RYDE car is based at Geographe Leisure Centre. There is no formal age range of volunteer mentors, as long as you have a current licence, can drive safely and have a good understanding of road rules.
