We currently have volunteer opportunities available during week days within the Coast Community Centre teams. ***To be referred to this role an interview with Volunteering Central Coast is required. Are you looking for a way to make a positive impact and give back to your community? Volunteering is a powerful way to help others, including those who are homeless. An exciting opportunity is available for the right candidate to collaborate closely with the State Peak, Homelessness QLD, as our secretariat. This organisation has evolved over the years and is representing the Specialist Homelessness Services (SHS) sector as a peak body in the state.

St Brendans provides 2 course hot lunch and shower facilities to the homeless every Friday at the Guide Hall, Watts Road Safety Bay from 11am-2pm. Volunteers can help set-up and prepare meals from 9.30am-11.30am or serve and pack-up from 11.30am-1.30pm.

Maroondah Winter Shelter provides a safe and warm place for homeless males to stay overnight during the winter months, 7 nights per week. Home cooked meals are provided. As a volunteer you would be making a difference to the lives of those who have been sleeping rough. Being able to listen, show care and treat our guests with dignity and compassion is what we ask for.

Can you help to heat up meals, serve meals or do dishes? Chat with guests and share a meal with them. Our guests are isolated or financially disadvantaged people who need some extra support with meals and being with community.

This is an opportunity to get to know our service and see the benefit of donations the community share with us in their drive to support disadvantaged or struggling families as well as the organisation. Donations come in from the community to stock out crisis accommodation properties with household items and what we don't use there we sort for our thrift shop.
