The Facilitator role is well suited to someone with good communications skills and confidence in public speaking. Ideally you will have experience facilitating a support group and/or demonstrate the ability to lead a balanced discussion. Personal experience with macular disease is desirable, not necessary.

Way Finding Volunteers help families navigate their way around the Queensland Children’s Hospital (QCH).Everyday QCH sees more than 1000 families come through the doors and the Way Finders are often the first point of contact for worried and often hurried parents, offering a welcoming smile and a gentle guiding hand.

As an Operating Theatre Recovery volunteer, you will work closely with staff to support the post-anaesthetic care of patients by providing comfort, as well as reconnecting and regulating caregiver visits. Volunteers also support the Queensland Children’s Hospital Recovery staff by answering the phones and maintaining comfort supplies.

Provide support to parents and carers entering the operating suites at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Volunteers help ease the anxiety of a child’s surgical journey by working closely with medical staff to provide information and emotional support to parents and carers.

Help facilitate play, activities and distraction for patients, siblings and visitors at the Queensland Children’s Hospital. Join our volunteer team to provide moments of happiness and social connection in the hospital environment.

We receive many and varied donations on a daily basis. The role encompasses sorting these donated items and pricing them suitable for sale in the shop. Persons with a disability are welcome to apply if they can meet the position requirements.

You can help raise funds for Ipswich Hospital Foundation (IHF) and support to the IHF Vending Machine Program. This role involves sorting stock and re-stocking the vending machine at Gatton Hospital.

You will be driving vehicle to pick up donated goods from the community, deliver goods to customer’s homes, deliver/pickup stock to/from our other Op Shops, take rubbish and unsaleable items to the local tip, load/unload the ute/truck as well as other related tasks.

The co-facilitator of a pain support group (PSG) for Bundaberg region helps the group to: share their experiences of living with chronic pain, educate the group about self-management techniques and to effectively use healthcare settings. The PSG provides an avenue for people with pain to socialise with others and reduce the isolation of chronic pain. The group meets once a month for 1.5 to 2 hours.
